My long-distance girlfriend quit her job of 10 years and left her family and friends to move to the other side of the country to be with me. Her new job requires her to work evenings and weekends so she is in a permanent state of exhaustion and has little time to keep in touch with folk back home but she never moans. I feel guilty that she’s swapped her comfortable career and buzzing social life for a rat race role and worry she regrets the move. I want her to know I appreciate everything she’s done for me.
