Totally love Swizzels, ever since I was small. Refreshers are my favourite - for the fizziness of the sherbet. Close second is Love hearts/Palmaviolets. Think they are one of the only sweets which don't seem to have shrunk or changed their taste over the years. Memories to last a lifetime.

When I started senior school, age 11, I had to get the bus to school for the first time - the fare was 2p return! The stop for the return journey was outside a sweet shop - how brilliant was that! We would all rush into the shop to be served by Mr Hastings. I always chose Parma Violets and even today the smell or taste of them transports me back to that bus journey home, 49 years ago.

I woke up at 1am heavily pregnant with a massive craving for drumstick lollies. I had my husband at the time driving round all the petrol stations and shops that were open. This was quite a few years ago when shops didn't open late. So you can imagine I was like a woman possessed. Even now years later I still love the taste of drumstick lollies and squashies. Anything that tastes like drumsticks.

My mum would always buy my sister and me the candy bracelets and it was always a fun challenge to try and eat them whilst wearing them without holding them in your hand and then biting into them without the candy pinging on to the floor. It was a real challenge to get them off the string that way and gave us so much fun.

When me and my best friend Jessica were kids, we would always be off to the sweet shop spending all our pocket money there. One day we said we said we would save all our coppers and buy a dream house when we were older together. We saved all these coins in this big tin and only got to about a few pounds worth before we decided we would spend the whole lot on sweets down at the sweet shop!! We've still got a sweet tooth!

There was once a time where me and my friends were doing a science experiment in a science classroom at school and we started singing really loudly while doing it and then I accidentally dropped a beaker on the Bunsen burner,WHILE it was on and then it popped and we screamed and everyone ran out of the classroom because they thought it was a gunshot. When they found out that it was the beaker, they started shouting at us and we got in bad trouble and now our group nickname is The Singing Lie-Lie Poppers. That was and is the most embarrassing moment of my life. The Singing Lie- Lie Poppers, what kind of name is that! Whenever someone says it to us we all go red!

I am sooo obsessed with Squashies that wherever I go and I see them, I have to buy them. I've spend over 20 pouds worth of squashies. I know it's not good for my health to have them all the time, but when you see squashies, what can you do? Now even my brother and sister do the same thing with drumsticks and Parma Violets. That's why we love Swizzles Sweets, it's one of our favourite brands of sweets and we can't live without them!

I work at a supermarket, and one time after work I decided to get a few things. I filled my basket with about 10 items and approached the self service machines to realise I had forgotten my wallet. My colleague saw me and decided to pay for my shopping. I am very grateful to have such loving coworkers :)

When my brother and I were little my grandma used to babysit for us. She always came with a handbag full of parma violet sweets and shared them out between us. To this day we still laugh at what we called her parma violet handbag and although she isn't with us anymore the smell of parma violets always brings a smile to my face and evokes wonderful memories of my parma violet grandma.

As I grew up in what people call now days a 'big family' money was not plentiful, but we were so very lucky to get a drumstick after Sunday mass if we behaved! The appreciation was unbelievable compared to a child receiving one these days. Thank god swizzels hasn't changed nor have we but I can't talk for the younger generation. A lot of 'old' sweets have disappeared of the shelf & swizzels continues to bring to the shelves and it's beautiful as it just brings back memory's. Sometimes myself and my sister will get one for 'aul times sake'

My memories of sweets goes back to walking to school. I used to buy a 1/4 of rainbow dust and use a drum stick to get it out of the paper bag before it went completely soggy!
