How to have a fabulous Christmas Wedding!

What better time of year to tie the knot than christmas? It’s a magical time filled with joy and celebration, everywhere is adorned with twinkling lights and lavish decorations, friends and family are in the mood to celebrate and most already have time off work to do so – And if you’re very lucky, it may just snow!

Here’s how to have a fabulous Christmas wedding!

#1 Don’t Get Hung Up On The Weather If you are getting married in December, the weather is one thing you don’t need to worry about. It’s going to be cold, there’s a good chance it will rain and if you’re really lucky it may snow! You already know this, so you will be holding your celebrations in doors and guests will be prepared for the weather. Unlike a summer wedding that’s being held in a marquee, which would have you anxiously checking the long range weather forecast!

#2 Choose A Magical Christmas Venue The perfect Christmas wedding venue needs to have atmosphere, charm and year round beauty. Think of a picturesque lake covered in ice, a castle with snow topped turrets and roaring log fires. Check out these magical venues that are perfect for a christmas wedding.

#3 Hire A Sleigh! The perfect way for a bride to arrive at her Christmas wedding is in a Sleigh. All the better if it’s being pulled by reindeers!

#4 Festive Food Serve mince pies and festive drinks instead of canapes and bubbly, you could even have christmas dinner with all the trimmings at your wedding breakfast!

#5 Deck The Halls Transform your wedding venue into a magical winter wonderland with lavishly decorated Christmas trees covered in sparkling fairy lights, pretty glass baubles and tinsel. Hang Christmas stockings around roaring fires and if you have an open staircase be sure to adorn the handrails with garlands decorated with holly, pinecones and lots of glitter. More is definitely more at Christmas!

#6 Christmas Themed Outfits They will probably never forgive you but dress up your page boys and flower girls as Santa’s elves. They will look absolutely adorable! You could even encourage the best man to dress up as the Queen when he delivers his speech – it’s not Christmas without the Queen’s speech!

#7 Festive Favours Your favours and place name settings should have a playful, festive feel. Christmas crackers make great wedding favours, or why not have little gingerbread biscuits decorated with icing sugar or snowball cake pops. Another lovely idea is personalised blankets and slippers, they reflect the time of year and will keep your guests toasty warm. For a touch of nostalgia our white Just Married Love Hearts with personalised wrappers or Personalised Giant Love Hearts Place Name Settings tick all the boxes, they are delicious, fun and provide little momento’s of your day.

#8 Christmas Cake Choose a wedding cake with a Christmas feel, cupcakes decorated to look like Santa hats or christmas trees would look amazing, or have a cake adorned with snowflake icing decorations and lots of glitter.
